About Me
Photography wasn’t always my passion, it intrigued me when my friend got a camera in 2004. I decided to get a point and shoot, to see if I enjoyed the hobby. Within a very short period I realised that I had finally found a way to channel my creativity and found photography very mentally stimulating. I soon moved on to my first DSLR and have never looked back. My name is Dave Gibbeson and I was born in 1975 in Plymouth, UK. I now live in Barnstaple, North Devon with my fiancée and our 3 children. I am a computer engineer by trade but now am feeding the family as a taxi driver. I’m a passionate photographer although I have yet to find my definitive niche. I like to photograph North Devon, its scenes, animals and people. I’m often drawn to the sea, I find it inspirational and relaxing to be near and feel it is reflected in my photography. I aspire to have people wanting to view and enjoy my work.
In my photographic journey I have managed to sell some of my work as mainly canvas prints and stock images, my favourite stock sale was A Southwest Summer used in a feature in Best magazine. I’ve also had images used in the North Devon Gazette to promote views of Bideford and Images used for a story in the North Devon Journal. I am currently working on a small project to make some of my work available in print.
